Nashville, TN — Just moments after earning an impressive podium finish in the ARCA Menards Series East Music City 150, Hunter Wright thrilled the hometown fans again by claiming victory in the Pro Late Model 100 at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway on Sunday afternoon.
Wright’s win didn’t come easy. Chase Johnson, who started from the pole, dominated the first half of the event, leading the initial 50 laps in commanding fashion. A competition caution at lap 50 set up a dramatic restart, where Wright used the outside groove to seize the lead and control the second half of the race.
Johnson didn’t go quietly, closing a nearly one-second gap over the final 10 laps to pressure Wright, but the Lebanon, TN driver held steady and took the checkered flag.
Chase Johnson finished a strong second, followed by Corey Deuser, standout rookie Aidan Potter, and Trey Craig rounding out the top five. The remainder of the top ten included Albert Francis, Stacey Crain, Michael Bolden, Tucker Wingo, and Davey Coble.
Wright’s Pro Late Model triumph capped off an unforgettable afternoon for the young driver, who continues to establish himself as one of Nashville’s premier short track talents.
Up next for Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway is the marquee Rackley Roofing Battle of Broadway 150 on Thursday, May 29 — a combination showdown for the Nashville Pro Late Models and the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour. NASCAR veteran Josh Berry is among the high-profile names set to compete in what promises to be one of the season’s most exciting events.
