Nashville, TN — Cole Butcher added his name to the record books Sunday afternoon at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, becoming the first Canadian driver to win the prestigious North-South Super Late Model Challenge 100. The Porters Lake, Nova Scotia native led every lap of the event, holding off a fierce late-race challenge to secure his third ASA Southern Super Series victory in a race co-sanctioned by CRA of the season in just six starts.
Driving the No. 28 for Donnie Wilson Motorsports, Butcher’s win came in historic fashion — Wilson himself captured the inaugural North-South event in 2016. Butcher’s milestone triumph marked his first career win at Nashville and extended his ASA Southern Super Series championship points lead.
A thrilling green-white-checkered finish saw Matt Craig mount a final charge, but Butcher held steady to claim the checkered flag. Craig settled for a strong second-place run, while rising star Carson Brown completed the podium in third. Gavan Boschele and Kyle Steckly rounded out the top five.
The remainder of the top ten included Bubba Pollard, Albert Francis, George Phillips, Jake Finch, and Colby Howard.
The ASA Southern Super Series now shifts its focus to the next marquee showdown: Thursday, May 22 at Hickory Motor Speedway for a co-sanctioned event with the Appalachian Sucker Punch ASA STARS National Tour — a can’t-miss night of Super Late Model action.
