The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office is operating a remote vehicle inspection site today (Monday) until 6 p.m. on the lot of KY Sound Stage, 5333 Frederica Street. Anyone needing an inspection because of hail damage is encouraged to avoid the lines at the Courthouse and go to this site. Ensure that any broken glass on the vehicle has been repaired. And you must bring your ID, the vehicle title, and a letter from their insurance company that has the vehicle’s VIN and explaining that the vehicle has been totaled due to hail damage. The fee is $15 and at the remote site only cash and check are accepted. The remote site moves very quickly with an average wait time of 5 minutes or less. You don’t have to get our of your car and it is ideal for larger vehicles such as trucks, enclosed trailers, and RVs.
