In recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month, Cromwell Media and Volunteer Owensboro are teaming up to launch a powerful initiative encouraging the community to Be Change For The Child on April 24th. What began as a conversation last fall with CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) has grown into a movement—uniting nine local nonprofits that provide critical support to children in crisis. These organizations, including CASA, rely heavily on volunteers to carry out their missions, and they need help now more than ever.
“This isn’t just about raising awareness—it’s about giving people a way to take action,” said Randy Lanham, Executive Director of Volunteer Owensboro. “All of us have an opportunity, some say a responsibility, to take care of the children in our own community. There are so many great organizations that are helping, but they need our support. If the thought has ever crossed your mind that our kids need to be helped, this is YOUR opportunity to Be Change For The Child.”
Cromwell Media has been airing interviews, public service announcements, and promotional content to spotlight these nonprofits, the work they do, and the many ways people can get involved.
“This is just another way our partnership with Volunteer Owensboro continues to grow,” said Jordan Yeckering, General Manager of Cromwell Media. “We’ve always believed in the power of local radio with community focus to make a real difference, and this initiative gives people a clear path to do just that—get involved, volunteer, and make change happen.”
The message is clear: don’t just be upset about the headlines—be the reason a child’s story changes. Volunteer. Show up. Be Change For The Child.
