Former Kentucky Democratic Party Leader Jerry Lundergan is pleased to receive a pardon from President Joe Biden before he left office. Lundergan was convicted of channeling funds to his daughter’s U.S. Senate run in 2014 and was sentenced to just under two years in prison. The former leader did not finish his sentence and had fought for a compassionate release due to serious health conditions. The president noted Lundergan’s health issues and non-profit efforts since his release in his reasoning for his pardon.
