In an incident Saturday in Breckinridge County, a sheriff’s deputy was shot while responding to a domestic violence call. The confrontation occurred at approximately 6 p.m. in the 2100 block of KY 2779 in Hardinsburg. According to Kentucky State Police, the deputies arrived at the scene when Julio Morales Ceballos allegedly opened fire, striking the officers’ cruisers and injuring one deputy. The injured deputy is expected to survive. After fleeing into nearby woods, Ceballos was apprehended by law enforcement Sunday. He now faces multiple charges, including attempted murder of a peace officer.
