A rise in respiratory illnesses is leading to more hospital visits nationwide. CDC data shows ER visits for influenza or respiratory virus are now “very high” in several states with RSV and COVID-19 cases increasing. Kentucky, Arizona, Utah, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Louisiana, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and New Hampshire are among the states reporting the biggest spikes. The symptoms of RSV, flu and COVID-19 are similar and include fever, cough, shortness of breath, congestion and tiredness.
