A report from the Kentucky Center for Economic Policy is showing that Kentucky teacher pay has been declining since 2008. Lex18 reports after pay is adjusted for inflation, teachers are making close to 14-thousand dollars less than in 2008. Over 75-percent of Kentucky schools districts saw a slight increase above inflation this year. The National Education Association reported in May 2024 that national average teacher pay was close to 70-thousand dollars a year. The average salary for a teacher in Kentucky was just over 56-thousand dollars.
