The Daniel Pitino Shelter at 501 Walnut Street is operating as a White Flag shelter from through Sunday morning, welcoming men, women, and children seeking refuge from the harsh conditions. Open from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 A.M. on designated nights, the facility provides meals during regular hours and ensures no one is left in the cold. Additionally, the Owensboro Transit System offers free rides to the shelter between 4-6 pm on weekdays. For weekend transport needs, individuals should contact the shelter directly at 270-688-9000.
