Applications for Kentucky’s Low Income Home Energy Assistance, or LIHEAP, program are opening up next week. Residents who earn at or below 150 percent of the federal poverty level can get assistance to cover heating bills over the winter. Starting next Tuesday, Kentucky citizens can contact their local community action agency to get enrolled in the initiative. Applicants will need to have their social security card, income documents, and utility bills available. To find the nearest community action agency, visit C-A-P-K-Y-dot-org.
