A Breckinridge County man died Saturday in a collision on KY 144. Kentucky State Police responded to a two-vehicle fatal collision at around 5:11pm, about a fatal collision involving a passenger car and a motorcycle near the 1500 block of 144. The preliminary investigation revealed that 58-year-old William T. Dowell of Sample was operating a Harley Davidson motorcycle north on KY 144 when he failed to negotiate a curve and crossed the center line and into the path of a 2024 Hyundai, resulting in Dowell being ejected from the motorcycle. The passenger car was operated by 35-year-old Breeanna Adams of Henderson. Dowell was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Breckinridge Co. Coroner’s Office. Adams was not injured. The affected portion of KY 144 was closed down for several hours to allow troopers to reconstruct the collision. KSP Post 4 was assisted at the scene by the Breckinridge Co. Sheriff’s Office, Breckinridge Co. EMS, and the Breckinridge Co. Coroner’s Office.
