In Spencer County, police are currently investigating an ATM theft from early Wednesday morning. According to the Spencer County Sheriff’s Office, thieves utilized a stolen 2001 Ford F-350 from neighboring Dubois County to rip the ATM from its foundation using heavy tow chains. After breaking into the machine and emptying its contents, the suspects escaped in a dark-colored SUV. This incident mirrors a similar ATM heist that occurred in Saint Meinrad last September, suggesting a possible pattern. Indiana State Police urge anyone with information to come forward and contact their Jasper Post at 812-482-1441 as the investigation continues.
