In a tense encounter at the Daviess County Public Library, a deputy narrowly escaped injury after being struck by a car driven by a wanted man, Noah Leach. Authorities were on the trail of Leach, who was sought for felony parole violations. On receiving a tip-off about his location, deputies approached Leach’s vehicle in the library parking lot, where he was found with a two-year-old child. As they attempted to apprehend him, Leach reversed rapidly, his door striking and narrowly missing injuring the deputy on scene. The deputy immediately provided a description, leading to Leach’s arrest following a brief standoff on McCulloch Avenue.
