Spectrum will donate $2,500 to Evansville Food Oasis through the company’s employee-driven grants program that recognizes the value of community service, Spectrum Employee Community Grants. Evansville Food Oasis is a nonprofit working to alleviate food insecurity in the community. Once per week, the Evansville Food Oasis sets up the Neighborhood Food Market shop in a neighborhood and sells nutritious foods at reduced prices to residents. By eliminating transportation barriers and making wholesome staples available at lower costs, the mobile market provides essential hunger relief and nutrition to Evansville Promise Zone families and children struggling with economic hardship and related health disparities. Earlier this year, Charter Communications announced its commitment to award $2.5 million over the next five years to local nonprofits through Spectrum Employee Community Grants.
