(Pittsburgh, PA) — Emmy-winning comedian Joe Flaherty has died.Flaherty was one of the stars of the 1980s comedy show “SCTV,” which also starred Martin Short, Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara.The comedy world is paying tribute to Flaherty on social media, including Martin Short, who said Flaherty was “the funniest man in the room.”Adam Sandler called him a “genius of a comedian.”Judd Apatow called Flaherty “a GOAT in the world of comedy.”Flaherty won two Emmys for his writing on SCTV.His family says he passed away Monday after a brief illness.Joe Flaherty was 82 years old.
