Winnie the Pooh once said, “How lucky I am to have something that makes saying Goodbye so hard…” and he was right.
I started working for Cromwell Media in May of 1994, the day before I graduated from Apollo High School.
Everyone said, “You have your foot in the door!” and were so excited for me.
I had no idea that when hired by the late Kevin Riecke, my life would be taken over with my new found love, RADIO.
How lucky am I to have been able to relay the weather so you will know if you need an umbrella or a light jacket.
How lucky am I to tell funny jokes and play great music for you on AM 1420 WVJS, a dream come true since listening to Joel Utley, Joe Lowe and Brian Jackson in my younger years.
Those three gentlemen were the sole reason for me wanting to be on the radio as a young child, and the reason why a 30-year career has been an amazing ride.
To Joel, Joe and Brian, I say Thank You.
Thank you, Owensboro, for always supporting us here at the Cromwell Media Complex, we love what we do and we couldn’t do it without YOU.
May 26, 1994 – April 4, 2024 = THANK YOU and I love you – support local radio always and forever – the voice behind the mic knows you are there and is grateful for you.
