A juvenile was taken into custody after a shooting Friday night in Owensboro. The Owensboro Police Department released details on social media on Monday.
OPD officers were called to the Owensboro Health Regional Hospital that night for a girl with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Detectives received information during the investigation that led them to an apartment in the 4700 block of Towne Square Court. Police say a juvenile boy “negligently” fired a handgun and wounded the victim in the right leg. According to police, he has previously been charged with Resisting Arrest, Disorderly Conduct, Assault, Terroristic Threatening, Possession of Handgun by Minor, Theft by Unlawful Taking and Criminal Mischief.
