A fire has claimed the life of a Muhlenberg County man. Wednesday at arond 2:51pm, the Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Department requested Kentucky State Police Post 2 to investigate a fatal structure fire. Preliminary investigation determined that 72-year-old David E. Poole of Cleaton was pronounced deead on the scene by the Muhlenberg County Coroner. An autopsy was scheduled for Thursday. The Kentucky State Police was assisted by the Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Department, Muhlenberg County Coroner’s Office, Central City Fire Department, Drakesboro Fire Department, and the Kentucky State Fire Marshal.
