Owensboro, KY – HPC Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky is celebrating a decade of serving hospice patients at the Heartford House!
The Heartford House, the first free-standing inpatient hospice facility in Western Kentucky, opened in Owensboro in October 2013. This provided a more home-like setting as an alternative to hospitalization and offers round-the-clock care for patients who require more symptom management than can be provided in the home.
“We are thrilled to be celebrating 10 years of the Heartford House!” says HPC’s CEO, Brenda Knollenberg. “And while 10 years is a great accomplishment, that really equates to thousands of individuals and families that have received excellent care provided by our staff. And we are extremely proud of that!”
The warm, homelike setting of the Heartford House was designed with family members and friends in mind, offering multiple gathering spaces.
As you drive up, you will find a beautiful outdoor setting with a lake, gazebo, and walking trails. There is also a chapel/meditation room that families and patients are encouraged to utilize.
Over the past 10 years, the Heartford House has hosted weddings, baptisms, a college graduation, a solar eclipse party, and much more for their patients.
HPC encourages patients to continue doing what they love, and to always live life to the fullest. HPC Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky is a local non-profit organization whose mission is “helping individuals live with dignity through the final stages of life.”
They serve patients and their families in Daviess, Hancock, Hopkins, and Muhlenberg Counties.
