28 Kentucky Pay Lakes Cited For Alleged Negligence

(Frankfort, KY) — Twenty-eight Kentucky pay lakes are facing alleged negligence charges.

The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources says officers received multiple reports from the public that catfish were being harvested and obtained by pay lakes.

It took conservation officers three years to complete the investigation.

The violations included improperly obtaining catfish, operating without a pay lake license, failing to document purchases of catfish and not maintaining proper records.

Commissioner Rich Storm says this investigation produced a victory for conservation and sustainable public fishing opportunities.
