National Guard Armory Receives New Name

(Harlan, KY) — A Kentucky National Guard armory is changing its name to honor a First Sergeant. Hundreds of people gathered yesterday to celebrate the new 1st Sgt. Ottis Capps Harlan Nation Guard Armory.

Department of Military Affairs Executive Director Charles T. Jones says the armory is named after Capps because he touched the lives of many.

Capps served with National Guard for 30 years.

Jones says it was honor to recognize him and the patriotism of the community.
