The Kentucky Motorsports Hall of Fame in Central City announced their 2023 Hall of Fame Inductees this week.
The 2023 Inductees will be the 15th class of inductions for the organization, which was originally housed in the Speedzeum in downtown Owensboro before moving to Central City in 2019.
The 2023 Inductees Include:
Lynn Ellison (Central City, KY): Lynn has over 200 wins in the 5 decades that he has competed. These wins include 9 national events and 16 divisonal wins.
Irvin Johns (Louisville, KY): Johns began his racing career in 1962. Accomplishments include a runner-up finish in the NHRA US Nationals, numerous wins at divisional races and 2019 NHRA Division 3 Champion.
Chuck Barnes, Sr. (Louisville, KY): Barnes is the all-time win leader at Salem Speedway with 55 wins and 7 championships.
Billy Teegarden (Brooksville, KY): Teegarden scored over 400 career wins during his racing career in the Midwest.
Danny Young (Alvaton, KY): Young is an accomplished motorcycle racer and gold medalist in the prestigous International 6 Day Trials. Young competed in England and Italy was the first Kentuckian to win a gold medal in the events.
Calvin Smith (Glasgow, KY): Smith is a retired civil engineer. Smith has built numerous cars over his lifetime and is a five-time member of the 200 MPH Club.
Pete Ausbrooks (Bowling Green, KY): Ausbrooks is a lifetime hot rodder and car builder and had his work featured at the annual SEMA Show and NSRA Showcase. Ausbrooks owns and operates a Chevy restoration business.
Michael Kayrouz (Louisville, KY): Kayrouz grew up in his father’s gulf station and became a car enthusiast at an early age. He competed at many local drag strips and is the former owner of Ohio Valley Raceway.
The Kentucky Motorsports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, November 4th at 2pm at the Kentucky Motorsports Museum in Central City.
