Rockport Raceway in Southern Indiana was back in action on Wednesday Night for the 4th mid-week racing event of the season.
This was the 2nd event for Tyler Nicely as track owner, but his 4th as track promoter after starting the season as a leasee for the Rockport track.
The event consisted of 3 classes including juicebox for the youngsters, plus True Box for the go-carts and the Mad Dawg Bike Series.
Australia’s Sam Drane, who was recently crowned as AMA 250cc Production National Champion took to the track capturing both his heat win and the 25-lap feature.
“It was a fun race. I thought Nick (McFadden) and Jake (Wells) would have been on me but I got away. I’m learning the track a lot better now,” said 12 year old Drane.
Jake Lewis finished in 2nd followed by Nick McFadden, Drake Nonweiler, and Grant Hagan.
In the True Box Series, it was Remington Meyer taking home his 2nd win in a row for the mid-week Rockport Raceway Series.
“It’s pretty awesome. It was really hard racing against these adults. I love it. I can run with them and it’s good to know that I can and look forward to coming back next race,” said Meyer.
Latham Joiner finished in 2nd followed by Nic Brooks, Clay Settles and Josh Evans.
Jackson Meyer was the winner of the Juice Box Race.
