Windy Hollow Dragway was packed with both drivers and spectators as both converged on the 1/8 mile strip for the “King of the Hollar” event. The event was the first “no-prep, heads up” event of the season and drew the largest crowd of 2023 for the track with traffic lined up for most of the night to get into the facility.
The event saw 5 second passes down the strip with fast machines in both the street car and small tire division.
In the end, it was the hometown favorite, Danny Madewell capturing the $1500 winner’s purse in the Small Tire Division over Cunningham Kentucky’s Jason Hayes.
In the street tire class, Jared Drennan in his Corvette took home the win and the $500 winner’s purse over Lewisport’s Chris Combs.
