(London) — An elderly British woman is dead after being run over by a royal motorcade. The BBC reports 81-year-old Helen Holland has died two weeks after being struck by a motorcycle escorting the Duchess of Edinburgh. Her son says she had been in a coma since the crash on May 10th, and died today after suffering multiple broken bones and “massive internal injuries.” He claims she was using a safe pedestrian crossing when she was struck. British authorities are investigating the incident. Buckingham Palace has released a statement saying the Duchess of Edinburgh is “deeply saddened” by the news.
