Aubrey’s Song Foundation for Eating Disorders in one of 277 Kentucky nonprofit organizations participating in Kentucky Nonprofit Network’s (KNN) 11th annual statewide day of action, #KYGIVES23. On Tuesday, May 9, Kentuckians can visit www.kygives.org and donate to their favorite nonprofit and cause. “Following the pandemic, and now with the economic recession, nonprofits across the state are all feeling the crunch when it comes to financial support from the community, especially smaller nonprofits,” says Carolyn Ferber, executive director of Aubrey’s Song. “These Kentucky nonprofits are counting on our fellow Kentuckians to help us continue to meet their community needs.”
While Kentuckians may donate anytime between May 1-10, KNN emphasizes the giving push for its member nonprofits on May 9. This annual event provides an opportunity to unite communities around causes in which Kentuckians truly believe and help nonprofit organizations connect to the larger community.
Other local small nonprofits participating in this event include Faithful Friends of Owensboro and Pathway of Hope in Greenville. This is Aubrey’s Song’s first year of participating in KYGIVES. Ferber adds, “While we serve mostly the western Kentucky area, we have helped Kentuckians from all over the state. There is no other resource and referral program for eating disorders like us, and we are excited to be a part of something larger that will raise awareness about this mental health issue affecting our youth.”
