The Outlaw Gasser Association kicked off their inaugural season on April 8th at Windy Hollow Dragway in Owensboro. After a week off, the guys and gals of the veteran racers will be heading to Decker Boyz Raceway in Leitchfield on Saturday, April 22nd.
The Outlaw Gasser is comprised of racers from various states that compete in old school, nostalgic rides that put on a family friendly show for all ages. Fans can expect to see long, smoke filled burnouts along with wheel stands and high horse-powered machines tackle the strip at fast speeds.
The Gassers also have a unique and well-received program for the youngsters where they take them for rides down at the track (at a safe speed of course) and let the kiddos know how it feels to ride shotgun in an actual drag race car. When the kids climb out, they’re smiling ear to ear.
Mark Garrett in his 1965 “We The People” Chevy Nova took home the inaugural series win at Windy Hollow, but the competition will be fierce this weekend. Can Mark defend his win at Decker Boyz on Saturday?
Here are some of the cars you’ll see on Saturday:
Gates open on Saturday at 11am. The track goes hot at 1pm. Eliminations begin at 3pm. For more information check out the Outlaw Gasser Association Website.
