
Kendra Bronsink has been named principal at Burns Middle School. The announcement was made Wednesday afternoon prior to a reception to welcome Bronsink to her new role. She will begin her new role July 1. Before joining BMS in 2019, Bronsink filled many roles in Daviess County Public Schools specifically at Apollo High School. She started with the district in 2005 as the Apollo High School junior varsity volleyball coach and Writing Consultant. In 2011, Bronsink began teaching as an English Teacher and became the head volleyball coach in 2012. During her time as a teacher until 2015, she was the author of the writing program review and established ELL sheltered classroom learning.
In 2015, Bronsink was selected to serve as an Instructional Coach. Her responsibilities included to regularly observe and coach teachers in areas of growth and improvement, operated the summer school program from 2016-2018, and served as the curriculum committee chair. In this role she also, served the district in developing the district-wide ELL program. Bronsink is currently serving as assistant principal at Burns Middle School, a position she has held since July 2019. In this role, she has supervised the school’s teaching and maintained an effective learning climate in the school, including evaluating and supervising the instructional process, as well as overseeing the implementation of school-wide curriculums. Other responsibilities have included establishing guidelines for proper student conduct; planning, organizing, and implementing school activities; and implementing and supervising special education programs. Bronsink has taken an active role in new teacher induction and development, helping guide the school’s Family Friendly initiative, and serving on the district MTSS team. Bronsink graduated from Murray State University in 2014 with a Master of Arts degree in Teaching English as a Second Language and earned her Rank I in Educational Administration from Western Kentucky University in 2017. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from King University in Bristol, TN in 2000. She is currently an education doctorate candidate at Western Kentucky University.
