Desiring to help neighbors in need, volunteers from churches across Owensboro, and the state, will serve the city through community projects as part of an event called the Send Relief Serve Tour, April 14-15.
Owensboro is the second stop on an eight-city international service tour, which is being held in partnership with local churches, city leaders and schools that have identified tangible needs within their communities. Stops on the 2023 Serve Tour include locations in the U.S., Thailand, Kenya and Greece. Last year’s Serve Tour projects served more than 17,000 people in seven cities across the U.S.
Serve Tour is designed to provide community support and service through a multitude of specific projects, including landscaping work at local schools; making home repairs and building ramps for seniors; hosting block parties in underserved neighborhoods; operating a mobile grill to distribute food to struggling families; operating a mobile dental truck to provide free dental care for local families.
Online registration is open until April 12 for community members interested in joining local churches to offer assistance on Serve Tour Owensboro projects. Registration is available at www.ServeTour.org/Owensboro.
Serve Tour Owensboro is being mobilized by Send Relief, a faith-based relief organization that works across the U.S. and around the world to meet needs and change lives through compassionate outreach events like this one.
