A bill that would outlaw controversial skill-based machines hits a roadblock on the Kentucky House floor. House Bill 594 would make the “gray machine” games at gas stations, restaurants and bars illegal with some exceptions carved out for e-gaming. Bill sponsor Rep. Killian Timoney of Lexington says the horse tracks have seen the bill but emphasized “its not a Churchill Downs bill.” That assurance was not enough for Rep. Steven Doan of Erlanger who called for the house to pass a bill that would regulate and tax the machines and to table the existing legislation. The motion to table passed and comes ahead of the anticipated passage of the sports gaming bill in the House this week.
