Owensboro Municipal Utilities says customers can expect their monthly bills to increase in the next couple of years. Public relations and communications manager Sonya Dixon told media partner 14News that supply chain issues combined with inflated prices to provide services led to the increases, but they will be small. Dixon says OMU increasing their rates will allow the company to get better interest rates and get access to funding that will allow them to bring more improvement projects to the community. She says while other companies are increasing rates by 5 to 6 percent, OMU’s rate will only go up a dollar in June and and additional $1.43 a year later.
