(Frankfort, KY) — Lawmakers are set to discuss sports betting in Kentucky next week. The legislative session in Frankfort resumes next week to discuss the measure which has been legalized in six of Kentucky’s seven surrounding states. There have been bills introduced since 2018 to bring sports betting to the commonwealth, none of which have been successful, with betting on horse racing the only legal form of the practice in the Bluegrass State. Officials say the sports betting bill would make it legal to place mobile wagers on sports, but only while physically at horse racing tracks.
