The only Shoney’s restaurant in Owensboro has closed. The owners of the location on Frederica Street say effective Monday the restaurant is closed for good. No reason was given for the closure but owners thanked their staff and customers for many years of support. An employee told media partner 14News they had one-day’s notice before losing their jobs. There is another Shoney’s on U.S. 41 North in Henderson.
