A large fire was reported Wednesday night at the Waupaca Foundry in Tell City. Sheriff Alan Malone told media partner 14News that numerous fire departments were called to the scene. Investigators say the fire started in the melt center in the foundry, but they are not sure how it started. Waupaca issued a statement from plant manager Cody Rhodes-Dawson, saying they confirmed all employees had been evacuated, and they were grateful so many departments responded quickly to the fire. There were no injuries, except on firefighter treated for heat exhaustion. The Tell City facility is Plant 5 in the Waupaca organization, which is based in Wisconsin.
