The world population recently passed 8 billion, just 11 years after reaching 7 billion—but the U.S., among other countries, is experiencing slowing population growth: the country’s current growth rate of 0.1% is the lowest on record. Locally, percentage change in population from 2016 to 2021 has increased 2.7%. Total change in population in the same period was plus 3,135.
