Saturday marks the one year anniversary of the deadliest tornado outbreak in the Commonwealth’s history. A series of tornadoes moved into Western Kentucky the night of December 10th. In total, 81 Kentuckians died as a result. Governor Andy Beshear and the first lady will travel to Western Kentucky on Saturday to “be with our friends and neighbors,” and to honor those killed. Commenting on the grim anniversary, U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell says that while the pain is fresh, “slowly but surely, Western Kentucky is coming back.”
