(Los Angeles, CA) — “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” is dominating the domestic box office. The sequel to 2018’s “Black Panther” raked in 180-million dollars in its debut weekend and smashed a nearly decade-old record for a November opening. That was previously set by “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” back in 2013. The film is a tribute to actor Chadwick Boseman who died of cancer in 2020 at the age of 43. Another superhero flick came in second with “Black Adam” grossing eight-point-million dollars in profit. Rom-com “Ticket to Paradise” netted six-point-one-million. Rounding out the top five were “Lyle, Lyle Crocodile” and “Smile” with three-point-two and two-point-three-million in earnings, respectively.
