A shoplifting case in Central City turned into much more Monday afternoon. According to the Central City Police Department, they were investigating a case of shoplifting at Walmart when the store notified them of two suspects, 34-year-old William Bolton and 31-year-old Whitney Settle, trying to escape in a pickup truck. Officers gave chase, and for about two miles they clocked them going more than 100 miles an hour, narrowly avoiding a head-on collision with another vehicle. Police then took the pair into custody. William Bolton faces charges of:
- Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree
- Flee/Evade Police 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle)
- Poss Cont Sub 1st Deg, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine)
- 1 Daviess County Bench Warrant
- 3 Muhlenberg County Bench Warrants
Whitley Settle faces charges of:
- Shoplifting $500 < $1,000
