
HARDINSBURG, Ky. (October 16, 2022) – Kentucky State Police responded to a two-vehicle injury collision in Breckinridge County Saturday afternoon involving a Breckinridge Co. Sheriff’s deputy.
On October 15, at approximately 2:15 P.M. CDT, KSP Post 4 received a call from the Breckinridge Co. Sheriff’s Office requesting assistance in investigating a two-vehicle injury collision near the intersection of US 60 and KY 86.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Deputy Tyler Hardin, with the Breckinridge Co. Sheriff’s Office, was traveling eastbound on US 60 responding to a call with his emergency lights and siren activated. As he approached the intersection of KY 86, Charles Board, operating a 2000 Ford F-150, pulled out and into the path of the deputy.
Board was flown to the University of Louisville Hospital with life-threatening injuries and is currently listed in stable condition. Deputy Hardin was taken to Breckinridge Memorial Hospital for evaluation and later released.
The affected portion of US 60 was closed for several hours in order to allow troopers to reconstruct the collision. KSP Post 4 was assisted at the scene by the Breckinridge Co. Sheriff’s Office, Harned Volunteer Fire Department, Webster Volunteer Fire Dept., Irvington Volunteer Fire Dept., and Breckinridge Co. EMS. The collision remains under investigation by reconstructionist Tpr. Kevin Dreisbach.
