Earlier today, the Daviess County Fire Department unveiled two brand new custom pumpers. The new fire trucks will replace older units that will be refurbished and given to volunteer stations in the county. These trucks will be able to handle any emergency that comes their way. Chief Smith said these new trucks will allow them to carry more equipment, which will help in responding to incidents more proficiently. One will be stationed at the airport, the other will go to the station on Highway 54. The trucks are expected to be ready and in service by the end of the month.
