Daviess Circuit Judge Jay Wethington is retiring. Wethington was elected to his position on the 8th Judicial Circuit Division One in 2007 and was re-elected without opposition in 2014. His current term was set to expire on January 2023. His retirement begins at the end of August. Wethington says his remaining cases will likely be given to retired judges until a new person is elected to his seat in November. Owensboro Department of Public Advocacy directing attorney Leigh Jackson is the sole candidate for the position now that Wethington has dropped out.
