A shortage of lifeguards is forcing the early closure of the Atkinson Pool in Henderson. The pool has 15 lifeguards when fully staffed but recruiting, training and hiring lifeguards has been a problem. The pool and just about every industry nationwide is struggling with hiring and keeping staff. Despite the pool’s closure, water features at East End Park and downtown at the Riverfront will remain open.
