
Kentucky State Police (KSP) investigation leads to two men being charged with murder in Breckinridge County.
KSP was contacted by the Breckinridge Co. Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) requesting assistance after the discovery of a deceased individual at a residence on Harned Rd. in Breckinridge Co. The preliminary investigation revealed that 59-year-old Beverly Smallwood of Harned, was found deceased inside the residence. Through the course of the investigation, detectives arrested 53-year-old Rodney Jones of Hardinsburg, and 33-year-old Boris Drane of Harned.
Drane was also charged with tampering with physical evidence and abuse of a corpse. Both men were later lodged in the Breckinridge Co. Detention Center.
The victim’s body was transported to the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville for an autopsy to be conducted Friday.
KSP was also assisted at the scene by the Breckinridge Co. Sheriff’s Office and the Breckinridge Co. Coroner’s Office. The investigation is ongoing by Detective Brad Holloman.
