A guilty verdict came down early Saturday morning for Chase Simmons, the man on trial for killing two teens in 2019, and injuring another. Simmons had been on trial all week, and the jury was given the case around 11am Friday. At 12:30am Saturday, Simmons was found guilty of two counts of murder and one count of assault. About an hour and a half later, the jury recommended a 60 year prison sentence. A judge will give the final sentence at a hearing set for July 27th. Police say at a party in Whitesville in 2019, Simmons shot and killed 16-year-old Amarius Winstead and 18-year-old Jasper Brown. 19-year-old Tyler Glover was also shot but survived. Simmons was a juvenile when the shootings occurred.
