Greenup, Ky. (June 8, 2022) – On June 8, 2022, Kentucky State Police Post 14 was contacted by Greenup County 911 in reference to a homicide that occurred at 947 Darby Hollow Road in Greenup KY. Preliminary investigation revealed that Thersa Martin (DOB: 1/17/1973), was shot and stabbed in her bedroom by a juvenile relative which resulted in her death. Further investigation revealed that another juvenile had brought the handgun to the residence after the other juvenile had told them of the offense they planned on committing. One juvenile was charged with Murder – Domestic Violence and the other juvenile was charged with Murder – Domestic Violence (Complicity). Both juveniles were lodged in the Boyd County Juvenile Detention Center and the case remains under investigation by Detective Lawson. The Kentucky State Police was assisted by the Greenup County Sheriff’s Department, Greenup Police Department, Greenup EMS and Greenup County Coroner.
