School campuses in Hancock County are going to be seeing some new additions to their normal classes this coming school year – school resource officers. Hancock County Sheriff Dale Bozarth told media partner 14News that they are still searching to fill those positions. A new law in Kentucky requires that every campus has one by August 1st of the 2022-23 school year. Bozarth says they get a lot of response for that kind of job, even more than for a regular police officer. He says the local schools have also undergone renovations ensuring that all of their doors and security measures are up to date.
