Work will begin in October as the Housing Authority of Owensboro is planning to renovate Rolling Heights. According to media partner 14News, the department is planning to spend $53 million to upgrade its largest subsidized housing complex, and then rename it. Since December of last year, tenants of the complex who have moved out have not been replaced, in preparation for the work. The total makeover will include new windows, bathrooms, kitchens, and more. It is being paid for by Kentucky’s Low Income Housing Tax Credit. Residents remaining when renovations begin will be temporarily relocated. The work is expected to take up to 23 months. When it’s finished, the city will rename the complex Churchill Park Apartments.
