A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at the JFK pool in Tell City to welcome back community members Friday at 11:00am. According to a social media post from the city, extensive renovations have been completed; made possible in part by the Perry County Leadership Class of 2019. Additional features and numerous upgrades have further been made possible by the City of Tell City, the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, and other community sponsorships and donations.
“The JFK Pool is more than a place to cool off for the summer, it’s a part of our community’s deep-rooted history and holds several decades worth of unforgettable memories and experiences of our residents,” said Mayor Chris Cail. “These renovations will ensure that families, students, and members of this community can continue to enjoy and make memories at the JFK Pool for many years to come, and stay connected to the history of this pool and park”.
Some of the many upgrades that the community may readily notice while visiting the newly renovated JFK Pool this summer include – the exterior façade, total updated interior, painting throughout, roof, landscaping, ADA accessible ramps and railing at the entrance, the brand-new splash pad addition, new pool liner, upgraded seating areas and a gazebo.
