State Senator Whitney Westerfield says he would support an across-the-board abortion ban in Kentucky if the U.S. Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade. Westerfield said this in an interview with a Hopkinsville radio station. He’s the Republican chairman of the Senate Judiciary. A draft Supreme Court opinion that leaked Monday night reveals a majority of justices intend to strike down the landmark ruling that made abortions legal on a federal level. Overturning Roe v. Wade would mean each state would ultimately decide its own abortion policies.
