Ask and you shall receive!
Mel Ford from the Keyboard here….
For years I have drove by “the bread store” on 25th Street. It was a discount bread store near what used to be Colonial Bakery, then Bimbo and now is a hub for Sara Lee Bakery. EVERY TIME I drove by the store, I said to my family, “I want that sign.” “I have to have that sign.” “I wonder if I asked them, if they would give me that sign.” You know the sign I’m talking about. It’s the best piece of bread store marketing I’ve ever seen. “GET YOUR BUNS IN HERE.”
The bread store has been closed for a long while now, but the sign that made me smile as I would drive by still hung in the window. “Now is my time to shine…” I would say to myself as I still tried to work up the nerve to ask, “Can I have the buns poster?”
Sometimes fate steps in and you have a great friend whose Husband has the hook-up. I’m telling you, the golden rule is true. Do good to others and “GET YOUR BUNS IN HERE” signs will come to you.
THANK YOU TO Matt and Stephanie Kasinger for making my buns dream a reality. I will forever buy Sara Lee products and share this story until my buns give out.
Wait, you know what I mean.
